Tier bets are also known as Tiers du Cylidre. Tier covers one-third of the French roulette wheel. This is a 6 piece bet, where a chip covers two numbers as explained below:

• One chip for the 5/8 split
• A chip for the 10/11 split
• One chip for the 13/16 split
• A chip for the 23/24 split
• One chip for the 27/30 split
• A chip for the 33/36 split

For example, if you placed a £10 chip on each of the six splits the bet would cost £60, if any of the numbers win you would be paid £170 and retain the original bet. A total of £180. Thus tier is a 2 to 1 bet.

Voison du Zero is a 9-chip bet that covers 17 numbers, nearly half of the wheel on the roulette racetrack. It is thus the largest section bet. Here is the distribution of the chips.

• Two chips for the 0, 2, 3 corner
• Two chips for the 25 to 29 corner
• One chip for the 4/7 split
• A chip for the 12/15 split
• One chip for the 18/21 split
• A chip for the 19/22 split
• One chip for the 32/35 split

Orphelins is a bet that takes up the smallest section in called bets as it covers eight numbers. They make up the two sections outside the voisins and tiers bets. Players use five chips to cover the following areas.

• One chip for the number 1
• A chip for the 6/9 split
• One chip for the 14/17 split
• A chip for the 17/20 split
• One chip for the 31/34 split

This is a four chip bet. Three of the chips are used on the splits 0/3, 12/15 and 32/35. The remaining chip places a straight-up bet on 26. Punters name it a zero game because it allows you to play numbers that are closest to zero (12, 3, 35, 26, 32, 0 and 15). You can win up to 35:1 when you use this unique bet.

This type of bet is popular with players who chase the roulette wheel's hot and cold sections. Neighbour bets are placed on what's known as the Racetrack on the table layout. The bet is usually a five-chip bet. You pick a number and back it up with two numbers on its right and left. Here is an example. If you go for zero and its neighbours, you will be placing your other four chips on 15, 32, 26 and 3. You win up to 35:1 if any of the numbers you have selected becomes the winning selection. For example, if you placed 0 neighbours for £5 it would be a £25 bet,  £5 on each of the five numbers. If one of the numbers was a winning bet then you will be paid £175 plus the original £5 bet, a total of £180.

As well as a 5 piece neighbour bet there are variations such as a 3 piece neighbour bet. The chosen number and one number on either side and also the 7 piece neighbour bet, the chosen number and three numbers on either side.

You start by placing a low bet on roulette and maintain the bet until the first win. Then, double the cash until you make the next win.
